Test Piece Two, 2021
Marble, steel, Rebar, Hardwood, MDF, Chipboard, acrylic paint, PVA
This work began as a test piece for another sculpture - namely the marble and rebar elements. I felt the result was too interesting to discard leave at that and so I began adding elements that I felt were related to the exisiting form or were interesting in themselves. This sculpture is very much about detail, texture and material. I find each element interesting through its appearance, substance or materiality. The colours are also very important being harmonious and all sharing a relationship and industrial quality. I am interested in the irregular abstract shape of most elements where each has an individuality yet again a relationship to each other.
Dimensions: Width 73 x height 105 x depth 50.5cm
